TWO LINERS
25 March - 6 May 2005
Exhibiting the work of two independent designers, Sam Buxton and Assa Ashuach, Two Liners explores the use of lines in the development of their new work.

Designers of furniture and lighting, both Buxton and Ashuach’s work is directly inspired by their own drawing processes; Buxton uses lines to create meaningful surfaces that explore the human interaction with his designs, whilst Ashuach uses line to create dramatic rounded objects.

Both designers work with digital technology to produce their final designs and as a result all of their work carries technology-influenced aesthetics.

Curated by Daniel Charny, Two Liners will also look at the thought processes behind design development, demonstrating how the final designs are connected to early ideas and starting points.

Sam Buxton’s experimental collection will include a new concept in bottle storage, a chaise longue with medical imaging of human organs and an exclusive preview of line drawings that have not been shown before.

Assa’s work will include a new fibreglass sofa, a collection of tables made with handcrafted moulds, a new flexible wall light and digital line drawings.
